Artichoke Dip Stuffed Bread – our favorite hot artichoke dip recipe stuffed into a delicious crusty baguette. Makes a great, easy party appetizer!
It’s officially the only time of year that I enjoy watching football! haha. I’m not the kind of girl that likes to sit around on a Sunday night watching sports.
However, if it’s a team I feel a vested interest in (GO BYU Cougars!) or if it’s the playoffs, I do enjoy watching. And the Superbowl is obviously my favorite! Friends, good food and trivia games makes it a party every year at our house!
We always make a bunch of party appetizers to enjoy during the game. You can find all of my favorite party appetizers listed HERE.
I usually always make my favorite hot artichoke dip and serve it with crackers, but this year I thought it would be fun to stuff it into a crusty baguette. I gotta say, I may never go back to the chips version! YUM!

I made this for my family because the love artichoke dip. They absolutely loved it!
LOVED this! What is the best way to reheat it though the next day?
Microwave or oven on low heat!
I make this every year for Christmas Eve. I can’t spend Christmas Eve with my sister but she asked if I could make this and drop it off to her. She said it wouldn’t be Christmas with out it.
I know this sounds stupid but , Do you slice bread or just dip out of it.
Either way! I like to cut it into slices.
Picky family members have gobbled this up. And everyone in my office enjoyed this. Great alternative for big groups because it’s a crowd pleaser. I’ve substituted more sour cream or plain yogurt for the cream cheese. No one noticed. Another time swapped the dill for green onion and added 1T sriracha. Yum!
Thanks so much for the positive feedback!
This was FANTASTIC! So great in fact, that I decided to take a chance on changing the main ingredients slightly, to create another hot dip inside the bread! Four seeded & diced jalapeños instead of artichokes or spinach. I added in one cup Colby-Jack Cheese to your ingredients & removed the mayonnaise. Those were my changes to create a delightful mildly “hot” & cheesy bread that would go great at any party served with guacamole salad & chili con carne. Thank you for creating this incredible recipe, which lends itself well to everything from changes like; fruits & marscapone inside of a boule, to the one I had made!
This recipe is amazing. I’ve made it for several get togethers and everyone raves about it. Sadly, it’s so good that could eat the whole loaf myself!
Thanks Michelle!! I could eat the whole loaf too 🙂
This was soooooo yummy!
I saw this in one of your newsletters and decided to make it for the Super Bowl. I blinked and it was gone. SO easy to make and so tasty! Will definitely be making it again.
Do you think this would be ok if I used Spinach Artichoke dip?
Absolutely! Sounds delicious.
Is this served right when it comes out of oven. after cooling off for a while. U c im going to a potluck party and it doesnt start till 6pm. do i make it at home and serve there, or make it and warm in microwave to make sure cheese is melted. if so how long in advance do i bake it before leaving, potluck party if 45 min from my house. plz help.
Hi Cecillia, I like it served warm, but I think it would work great to bake it right before you leave, put tinfoil over it and serve it when you get there. It should still taste wonderful after the 45 minute drive.
Could this easily be done in a baking dish instead? Finding baguettes in my small town grocery store can be very difficult.
Absolutely. Here’s the recipe for the artichoke dip baked in a dish instead. https://tastesbetterfromscratch.com/2016/12/artichoke-dip.html
This was a big hit at our girls’ Christmas party. I’m making it again for our family Christmas dinner, but using a bread bowl instead of the baguettes, with crackers for dipping.
Fun! So happy you liked it!
Hello, is the dill weed chopped, whole stem or dried dill weed?
Hi Tina, I always use dried dill weed but you could use fresh chopped.
If you have, let’s say, not much time due to two-year-old twin terrors <3, could you use pre-made artichoke dip as your base and just add the cheese, garlic and dill?
Absolutely! you could also make the artichoke dip portion a day or two in advance and then spoon it into the bread. Hope you enjoy it!
This looks absolutely delicious! Do you use a long, skinny baguette or the wider French bread type of baguette?
Hi Cynthia, I’ve used both types of baguettes before, with success 🙂
I can’t wait to try this recipe but my sister can’t tolerate garlic. Is there a substitute that will work for the flavor?
Thanks!
Hi Robin, I would just leave the garlic out–it will still taste great!
This looks soooo good!!! I am having girls night and going to try it. Wondering what you think about using the hollowed out bread for dipping or what else could I use for dipping if I didn’t cut the loaves?
Hi Lori, you could definitely use the hollowed out bread for dipping. You could also grab another small baguette and cut that into pieces for dipping. Hope everyone enjoys it!
Thanks for sharing! Easy peasy appetizer!
I can’t wait to try this but I must admit that the video put me off slightly. An ad plays every few seconds of an already short video.
Just to clarify, to eat it you slice it into pieces & eat it like garlic bread?
Yep! Just slice it into large, (about 2” thick) slices
Hi! Looks great & am planning on making tonight, but I am not a huge Parmesan cheese fan & I happen to have a bunch of mozzarella on hand. Could I substitute that? It is shredded.
Hi Samantha, yes you could substitute mozzarella! Hope you love it 🙂
woww lookings so yummy!!! Gotto try it xx
This was absolutely fabulous. I even kept on in the fridge for two days and then heated it for happy hour. These are elegant and wonderful.
This looks amazing….I can’t wait to try!
Do you think I can make ahead and freeze?
Hi Bridget, You may be able to freeze the filling (I haven’t tried it to say for sure). Then freeze the bread separately and put them together the day of.
This was easy and delicious, thank you! This is a great recipe for a party, because you can prepare it ahead of time and spend more time with your guests! Yummy!
Looks soo delish! Thanks for sharing! One quick question – the “1/2 can of sour cream” – is that half of a regular sized (16oz) container of sour cream? Thanks again!
Hi Jessica, I apologize for the typo–it’s 1/2 CUP of sour cream 🙂 Thanks!
