This recipe is a big hit at my house! I substitute pork for beef, but I’m sure either works well. I make this up in the morning and throw it in the refrigerator until dinner time. I had noticed the same thing..I assume you’d just add it with the rest of the ingredients but not 100%. Going to try this recipe tonight regardless so hopefully I’m right about the breadcrumbs.
